Music recommendation.

Ever heard of the band Cold Black? Well, didn't think so. They're a small band with a few of my mates and they're not too big. Even though they are big enough to have been in the United States to record songs producers who've recorded with a lot of famous people.
Also I really believe they could actually get pretty far with their music, seeing it's rather decent.

They have recently released a new music video for a song off their upcoming EP "In Motion" (which I beileve they recorded in the States) that is due to come out on December 15th. And they have about 8000 likes and counting on Facebook.
The music is described by themselves as hard rock/metal. I'd definitely recommend this band to anyone who enjoys that kind of music, because they really are awesome and a bunch of kind guys.

"Cold Black is a Danish hard rock/metal band formed in the winter of 2011.
The members are the 2 brothers Victor (vocal) and Alex (guitars) joined by guitarist and cousin Martin (guitars) along with drummer Jamal. In 2013 Jeff was added on bass. The music is heavy and hard-hitting, but melodic and catchy nonetheless and inspired by everything from classic rock to post-hardcore and metalcore. The liveshow is energetic and visual like few others..."

Check out their awesome new video and give them a like on Facebook HERE.

Somebody that I used to know.

So recently I've rediscovered my love for the band Metro Station. I used to absolutely love them back in 2009 and I even saw them live once, when they were in Denmark. Their songs just reminds me of old and easier days (even if I at the time didn't think the days were easier) and I like the feeling of nostalgia I get when listening to them.

There's been a lot of weird stuff going on with that band, so much so that I haven't been able to figure out exactly what. I stopped listening to them in late 2009/start 2010. But they split at one point, just to get back with one of their old members, Mason Musso, who's currently the only member, even though he's gotten help to produce songs from Blake Healy and Anthony Improgo (who are also old members). Yay for Wikipedia!

Anyway, just thought I'd share their most popular song with you, maybe some of you remember it from years ago. I still know all the lyrics to the songs on their album by heart!

21.06.13: 30 Seconds To Mars.

Friday after work I went directly to Tivoli (after bying some facepaint) to join Laura, Selma, Emma and Cille. They had been sitting at Plænen (a big area with grass) since noon, because they wanted good spots. For what? Well, for the 30 Seconds To Mars gig!

Whilst waiting, we just talked, had fun, drank some beers and took some shots. Some woman, who was rather drunk, kept giving us drinks, so we didn't have to pay for ourselves, which was great. But she was a bit annoying.

The band didn't go on stage until 10pm, so we had to wait for a long time. It started to rain a bit twice, once right after I arrived and once right before the gig started. Luckily Laura and my other friend Ditte had umbrellas, so I didn't become too wet.

The gig itself was seriously amazing. I had heard so much about how incredible 30STM shows were, how the energy was extremely amazing, how the contact between the band and the crowd was more than bands usually talk to the crowd. And all of it was true. Jared spent a lot of time talking to the crowd about a lot of different things, he made jokes and made us yell "Love Lust Faith Dreams" in Danish a couple of times. He also had this giant Danish flag that he kept waving. That was one of the few moments where I felt proud to be a Dane!

Since I forgot my camera and my phone died hours before the gig started, I have no pictures whatsoever. But luckily my friend Mia Malene let me "steal" some pictures from her blog - with credit, of course! So, here you go, take a look at MM's lovely pictues from one of the best nights of my life!

Last picture is taken by Laura, when it was raining right before the gig started.

New header.

I've wanted a new header in a while. Well, before it was just text because I didn't know what to put in my header picture, but I wanted a custom one. So last night I sat for like an hour, struggling with Photoshop and tutorials on Youtube.

But now I've made the perfect (in my opinion) new blog header. I think it's amazing and it fits my blog really well. It represents two of the things I love the most.

I used a Photoshop action that can be found on my friend Mia Malene's blog HERE. To be more exact, I used action number seven, if you'd like to know. Then I downloaded a few new brushes with music notes, because I don't think I will ever have a blog header without music on it in some sort of way. Believe me, it was really hard for a retard like me to use brushes. As the background picture I used one of my own pictures I took while I was in Bristol, of the harbourside. I also have that picture on my new Mastercard!

And last, but not least, the text in my new (and old) header is inspired of a song made by the band Of Mice & Men named Let Live. It originally goes "Met a drug that changed my life", but I changed it into my own little phrase, because it fits me so well. If it wasn't for music, I don't know what my life would have looked like. Without music I wouldn't have most of my amazing friends I have today. Without music I wouldn't know how to go through my day.

So I hope you'll enjoy my new header at least half as much as I do, since I'll probably always be enjoying it mostly, because well, I made it and it's actually one of the few things I made with Photoshop that I'm really proud of. Probably the thing I'm most proud of.

Road To Manila.

Yesterday Emma and I went to see a Danish band live in Copenhagen. They're called Road To Manila and their music is actually pretty awesome.

We'd already seen them twice before - both times as a supporting band for The Dead Lay Waiting, once in November last year in Copenhagen and another in June this year in Kolding. But both of those times TDLW kind of had my attention and I didn't really focus too much on the supporting bands. But Emma asked me if I wanted to come with her, because she had discovered how awesome they really are, and I said yes, because, well.. It's a concert and I didn't dislike them. They made a mini CD back in August and I downloaded the songs (for free on their website!) and listened to them, which made me realise that they were in fact pretty good. But seeing them live yesterday, focusing all my attention on them made me realise exactly how awesome they were.

So of course we had to buy some of their merch. We actually only planned to buy their CD since they were pretty cheap, but their old demo was free, and then they convinced us to buy two t-shirts. We only did that because we could get them for half prize, haha!

If you feel like it, you can check them out HERE and HERE. I promise their music is good! If you're worrying about the genre, I can tell you that they see their own music as melodic hardcore.

Soundtrack of my life.

Pierce The Veil ft. Kellin Quinn - King For A Day.

This song is seriously the soundtrack of my life these days. I heard it for the first time in Bristol where Cille played it for me and I quickly started to like it. I didn't really listen to the lyrics, because we always had music playing in the background when we were chilling in our room. But when I came back home I remembered the song (mostly because I miss Bristol like hell) and found it on YouTube, where I listened to it for a while before actually downloading it. I also read the lyrics for it somewhere on the internet, and I quickly fell completely in love with it.

I've played it 60 times on my iTunes since I downloaded it Tuesday last week and at least 100 times on YouTube and on my iPod. I keep hitting the repeat button when I listen to it, because it's just that awesome. It's one of those songs I can listen to again and again and just not grow tired of!

Kellin Quinn is from the band Sleeping With Sirens and even though I'm not a fan of that band, I actually really like Kellin's voice. Especially in this song. It just sounds so damn orgasmic in harmony with Vic's (lead singer of Pierce The Veil) voice. The lyrics are really awesome as well!

By the way, check out my review of Pierce The Veil's latest album on MiaMalene's blog!

Chapman Square.

At midnight last night the British band Lawson released their first album - and damn, my Twitter went crazy! I'm not following any other fan than Cille, but it was the guys from the band who went completely nuts over the fact that their first album ever came out. And honestly, can you blame them?

Cille and I were off at 17.10 today, and after that we hurried to the shopping streets where you can find a HMV store, where they luckily had the album, and I bought it!

Basically it's called Chapman Square because it was where they first played live together as a band. You can either buy the album with one or two CDs, and I bought the one with two, obviously!
Cille and I are listening to the album right now, and we actually think it's a really good album all in all. We of course knew a couple of the songs because of singles and so on, and we've probably heard some of them live as well without noticing (we saw them live back in August).

They actually told some Danish fan that they may be back in Denmark before 2012 is over, and I'm really crossing my fingers that they will come! It'd be awesome.
